A leading expert on corporate fraud protection will speak about the globalization of fraud and evolution of forensic accounting Tuesday (Jan. 29) at West Virginia University.

Frank Piantidosichairman and chief executive officer of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP (Deloitte FAS ), the global managing partner of Deloittes Forensic&Dispute Services practicewill give a talk at 7:30 p.m. in Room G20 of Ming Hsieh Hall on WVU s Downtown Campus. The presentation is open to the public.

The lecture, which will focus on innovation, technology and corporate social responsibility, is part of the WVU College of Business and Economics Ann Pushkin Executive in Residence Program. The program was established to bring executives to campus to help connect students to the world of business.

Piantidosi has spent the past two decades on forensic investigations, uncovering illegal financial activity around the world. His counsel on forensic matters has been featured onNBC Nightly News,as well as in The New York Times and USA Today.

He was involved in high-profile investigations, including the commission headed by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker that looked into Swiss banks and their holdings of Holocaust victimsassets, and the investigation of the United Nationsoil-for-food program in Iraq.

At Deloitte FAS , Piantidosi has led the development of the dispute consulting and forensic investigations discipline and helped define the skills necessary to investigate global corporate fraud.

He received his bachelors degree in business and economics from St. Anselm College and a masters degree in accounting from Northeastern University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
