Dr. William E. Coleman, an alumnus of West Virginia Universitys Eberly College of Arts and Sciences and vice president of technology for stencil and blade manufacturer Photo Stencil, has been named to the Eberly College Advisory Board.

Coleman has a bachelors degree in physics from Wheeling Jesuit University and a masters and doctorate in physics from WVU .

As vice president of technology for Photo Stencil for 20 years, he has worked with customers to understand their printing requirements and helped to design, develop and introduce several new stencil products in the surface mount industry.

Prior to working for Photo Stencil, he spent his early professional career developing memory and display devices for NCR Corp. in Dayton, Ohio, and Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was awarded over 15 patents and published several papers. NCR is a technology company that provides business solutions for the retail and financial industries.

His wife, Bonniegail Kucan Coleman, was also a physics major at WVU . The Colemans established a scholarship through the WVU Foundation for female physics or chemistry majors at WVU . They currently reside in Colorado Springs.

Bill Coleman has extensive experience working with international corporations such as NCR in Dayton,said Mary Ellen Mazey, dean of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at WVU .He is an excellent example of how an education in the liberal arts and sciences leads to a successful career in the private sector.

The advisory board provides advice and counsel to the dean of the Eberly College, and brings the teaching and research activities of the college into closer contact with life in West Virginia and the nation. It also helps to bridge the gap between academic procedure and professional practices.
