The West Virginia University Wind Symphony will present a special patriotic concert honoring veterans at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 13) in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.
Conducted by WVU director of bands John Hendricks III and assistant director of bands Dearl J. Drury, the concert will also feature the WVU Choral Union directed by Kathleen Shannon.
Veterans may receive a free ticket to this concert by showing identification at the Mountainlair or Creative Arts Center box offices.

Performers will include WVU faculty members John Winkler, trumpet; Jay Malarcher, narrator; Eugene Galvin, bass baritone; and conductors Christopher J. Nichter and Matthew Smith.
Bill Nevin, announcer for the WVU Marching Band, will be the master of ceremonies, and students from the WVU Flute Studio will also perform.
The first half of the program will open withThe Star Spangled Banner,followed bySemper FidelisandFugue on Yankee Doodleby John Philip Sousa andOur American Heroesby Steve Rouse.
There will also be performances ofAmerican Patrolby F.W. Meacham,American Saluteby Morton Gould,The Circus BeeandAmericans Weby Henry Fillmore andFort McHenry Suiteby Julie Giroux.
Other highlights will include a medley of George M. Cohan selections titledGeorge M. CohanAmericas ShowmanandA Tribute to Our Veterans,which includes John WilliamsHymn to the Fallenfrom the movieSaving Private Ryan,Armed Forces SaluteandAmerica the Beautifulby Samuel Ward.
The finale will beThe Stars and Stripes Foreverby Sousa.
