The West Virginia University Flute Choir and chamber ensembles will present a concert at 5 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 4) in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (Room 200A) of the Creative Arts Center.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The first half of the program will feature many small ensembles playing short selections, said flute professor Francesca Arnone. There will be one trio and three quartets featuring piccolo, flute, alto flute and bass flute. They will performTrio, Op. 59by Alexander Tcherepnin,La Lune et les Etoilesby Catherine McMichael,Sinfonico, Op. 12by Anton Reicha andWere We Go Againby Mike Mower.
The second half will feature WVU s 17-member Flute Choir performingSymphony No. 4by William Boyce,Serenade, Op. 11by Dag Wiren and Over the Edge by Benjamin Boone.
The conductors are Arnone and students Kaylee Baker, Kaitlin Bodell, Elisa Gutierrez, Laura Menser and Heather Mourick.
The groups will also be joined by music students Josh Garrett, Colin McBride, Tyler Shreve and members of the WVU Percussion Studio.
