The West Virginia University Laureate Wind Quintet will present a concert at 8:15 p.m. Monday (Oct. 22) in the Creative Arts Center on the Evansdale Campus.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (Room 200A).

Faculty members performing include Francesca Arnone, flute; Cynthia Anderson, oboe; John Weigand, clarinet; Lynn Hileman, bassoon; and Virginia Thompson, horn.

The program will includeSuite for Wind Quintetby Ruth Crawford Seeger, an American composer who wrote the piece specifically for a competition contest, which she won.

The quintet will also performPetite Suiteby Claude Debussy, an arrangement of his popular suite for piano with four hands.

Wind Quintet No. 1by Miguel del Aguila is the newest work on the program and creatively showcases a wind quintet in a few nontraditional contexts.
