For West Virginia University sophomore and junior students looking to enrich their college experience and participate in the diverse activities the University community has to offer, playing a new game may provide a wealth of rewards.

The Sophomore/Junior Year Experience program, part of the WVU Office of Student Affairs, is hosting theSuccessful Journey of Eventsgame which encourages student involvement in a wide-range of activities, events and programs connected with the University.

Participants can choose from over 20 categories of events occurring during the academic year and listed on aSuccessful Journey of Eventsgame card.

By attending the events, students earn special stamps to fill their game card. Once they have attended at least 10 such events, they can qualify for an Apple iPod giveaway, to be awarded during finals week in May 2008.

This program is a fun way for students to get out and experience some events on campus they might not normally consider attending, said Sheila Powell, special assistant to the vice president of student affairs. There are a wide range of events to choose fromsome cultural, some academic and some just for funthat will help students experience a different perspective of the University.

Of the numerous events that qualify under the program, students can attend a faculty dinner series presentation and/or a student recreation center class; participate in the 3 on 3 basketball classic; travel on a trip with Study Abroad Program; attend a Student Government Association meeting; participate in an intramural sport; see a movie in Gluck Theatre; attend a Mountaineer Week event or participate in many other activities.

Although the game is already in progress, students have until April 30 to submit their completed game card to the WVU Office of Student Affairs.
