Shopping early and beating the crowds is the key to success for any smart consumer. And for West Virginia University students expecting to graduate at the end of this year, its no different.

Now those students can participate in the graduateOne-Stop Shopand purchase their commencement gowns, caps and class rings in advance of their planned December graduation. A part of the Senior Experience, the event will occur from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Engineering and Mineral Resources atrium and Oct. 9-10 in the Mountainlair Commons area.

In addition to purchasing their commencement regalia, students can pay their graduation fee, sign up with the WVU Alumni Association, and obtain helpful pointers about writing a resume and searching for a post-graduation job.

Additionally several University departments will be on hand to provide information and help finalize details for graduating seniors. The Office of Student Accounts will be accepting the $39 graduation fee and representatives from the Career Services Center, Health Services Center, Office of Disability Services and Athletics will be in attendance to answer questions and provide information.

The WVU Bookstore will also register attendees for a chance to win a free diploma frame and Student Affairs will be giving away a commemorative WVU watch.

December Convocation is scheduled for Dec. 9. The December Convocation honors those students who complete their degree requirements mid-year. Degrees are conferred during commencement held in May.
