While Demetri Martin often works on a variety of career projects, he is always one thing, regardless of his venue: funny. A graduate of Yale, Martin dropped out of law school to pursue comedy full time. What began as a simple venture telling jokes in New York City comedy clubs quickly developed into a major career.

Martin scored gigs as theTrendspotteron The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and as a comedy writer for Late Night with Conan OBrien, where he occasionally performed material. He has also dabbled in standup on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly and Comedy Central presents Demetri Martin.

In 2006, Martin launched his first solo tour to promote his debut comedy album, These Are Jokes. All Music Guide called the recording a taste of thequirkier, smarter side of standup.

Martin has also made appearances at comedy festivals, including Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, The Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, The Aspen Comedy Festival and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, among others. He earned trophies in Edinburgh, Melbourne and Aspen. Martins sophomore album, Person, was released in September, and hes also in the process of writing three movies€one for Sony, one for Dreamworks and a third for Thousand Words.
