West Virginia University will honor Tom McCutcheon, Monongalia County Extension agent and doctoral student, with a bell-ringing ceremony at 11:50 a.m. Friday (Sept. 28) at Oglebay Plaza on the Downtown Campus.

McCutcheon, 45, of Morgantown, died Monday, Sept. 17, at his home.

He had a bachelors degree in horticulture and masters in entomology from WVU , and he was completing graduate work in the Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences at the time of his death. McCutcheon will be awarded posthumously a doctorate in agricultural and extension education.

During Fridays service, the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity will ring the bell from the armored cruiser USS West Virginia. Family, friends and members of the University community are welcome to attend.
