Applications are now being accepted for Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer as part of West Virginia Universitys 2007 Mountaineer Week celebration Nov. 2-11.

This prestigious award honors one male and one female student who have a record of academic achievement and extracurricular involvement.

Applications should be mailed so as to arrive no later than 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4.

Applications must be mailed along with a $20.00 fee per application to: WVU Mountainlair; Administrative Offices; P.O. Box 6437; Morgantown, WV 26506 ; Attn: Mountaineer Week Committee. Checks should be made payable to WVU .

All undergraduate applications must be eligible for graduation by May 2008. All graduate applications must complete their last semester on campus by May 2008.

A panel of faculty and staff will select five male and five female finalists from the applications. A second panel will interview the candidates, and from that interview they will select the winners. Finalists will be presented and winners will be announced during half time ceremonies of the Louisville vs. WVU game Thursday, Nov. 8.
