The bustling Harrison County city of Clarksburg is the site this fall of aNonprofit Management Seriesby West Virginia Universitys Division of Social Work.

The series, which includes six sessions, is geared to the social work professionals overseeing nonprofit efforts in one of the fastest-growing regions in north-central West Virginia.

Sessions begin Oct. 5 and will run from 10 a.m.-noon or 1-3 p.m. in the Gaston Caperton Center. Sessions are approved for two hoursof continuing education for social workers; or two hoursto WVU s Continuing Education Certificate in Nonprofit Management program. The cost is $25 per workshop or $90 for all six sessions.

  • Oct. 5, 10a.m.-noon,Ten Commandments of Nonprofit Governance; 1-3 p.m.,Communicating Your Brand Identity
  • Nov. 2, 10a.m-noon,Program Design and Evaluation; 1-3 p.m.,Creating Networks&Collaborations
  • Dec. 7, 10a.m- noon,Governance of Nonprofit Organizations; 1-3p.m.,Foundations of Nonprofit Organizational Design

Additional sessions in volunteer management and employment and team-building will be Oct. 23 and Nov. 14.

Other workshops are also being offered in Morgantown beginning Sept. 27. If youre interested in attending a combination of two-hour sessions in both Clarksburg and Morgantown, sign up for at least four workshops and pay $15 per session.
