West Virginia University alumni and friends living in Boone, Lincoln and Logan counties will have an opportunity to meet President-elect Mike Garrison during a special reception from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The event�€hosted by the Boone County Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association and sponsored by Shaffer and Shaffer, PLLC �€will be held at 330 State Street in Madison. All alumni and friends are welcome to attend.

It is always a wonderful opportunity for me to meet other alumni and friends who share the same passion for our great University,Garrison said.

We are extremely fortunate to have dedicated, loyal alumni living all over the world engaged and involved in the life of WVU ,he noted.Im looking forward to talking with them and hearing their ideas on how we can continue to work together to further shape the Universitys future.

The WVU Alumni Association, chartered in 1873, represents more than 170,000 University graduates residing in every county in West Virginia, every state in the union and approximately 60 foreign nations.

With nearly 100 registered chapters and constituent groups, the associations 29,000 dues-paying members support Homecoming Weekend, the WVU Academy of Distinguished Alumni, Loyalty Permanent Endowment Fund and dozens of other social and philanthropic programs.
