West Virginia University will have a new director of undergraduate recruitment effective Aug. 1. Jamie Ealy has been named to the position and will be responsible for planning and coordinating undergraduate recruitment efforts, including supervision of regional recruiters throughout the nation.
I am very pleased that someone with Jamies experience, enthusiasm and leadership skills will be taking on such an important role for the University,said Brenda Thompson, assistant vice president for enrollment management.Attracting top students to WVU is vital to our continued successnot only in meeting our enrollment goals, but in serving the citizens of this great state.
Ealy has 12 years of experience in college admissions and recruitment. He received a masters of education in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
He spent the past five years at Berea College in Kentucky and the last four as the schools director of admissions. He also served as enrollment services coordinator for Virginia Techs master of business administration program and admissions and financial aid counselor at Concord University.
Ealy said he is looking forward to ensuring prospective students are aware of the opportunities at WVU and consider the University their top choice for higher education.
After nearly 10 years away from my home state, I am both excited and honored to be able to return and be of service at our states flagship university,he said.WVU is integral to the educational and economic success of the state, and it is critical that students from throughout West Virginia, the nation and world are aware of the many opportunities available to them at the University.
