Tracey J. Beckley of Fairmont has been named director of Extended Learning Programs at West Virginia University.

Beckley will be responsible for strategic planning to increase enrollment and revenue in more than 25 degree programs offered online and off-campus, according to Sue Day-Perroots, dean of Extended Learning.

She will work with departments that offer programs via distance learning, manage the customer service center and develop a recruiting plan to build WVU s programs in new and expanding markets.

Academic outreach is a critical component of our land-grant mission,Day-Perroots said.Tracey Beckley brings not only a knowledge of the state, but a keen sense of data analysis with a unique blend of customer service to advance WVU s online and off-campus programs.

My long-term goal was to return to public service, and Im excited to be part of this dynamic organization,said Beckley, formerly the general manager of call operations at Allegheny Power.

She has also worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Team and the West Virginia State Development Office.

Beckley has a masters in public management from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelors degree from Princeton University. She was also a Truman Scholar.
