Elizabeth Brown, manager of user services forProject Muse, was enthusiastic in recommending thatWest Virginia Historybe included in the prestigious, online service.

I enjoyed reviewing the new issue and am very impressed with the work that has gone into re-launching this journal at the West Virginia University Press, she wrote in the acceptance letter.

The new editor, Ronald L. Lewis, has impressive credentials and seems very committed to moving this title forward. While West Virginia University is expected to be well represented in the journal, the editorial board includes members from throughout West Virginia and Appalachia and beyond. I found the balance of subject matter in the articles really interesting, such as the article on music in the lives of African American West Virginians in the €~30s and €~40s,she added.
