West Virginia Universitys Eberly College of Arts and Sciences has a new grants management specialist who will assist the college with its marketing efforts.

Katie Stores will write grants and seek out new funding for the college, which is WVU s largest, with 60 undergraduate major and minor degree offerings.

Stores comes to WVU from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. At NIH , she was enrolled in the Department of Health and Human ServicesEmerging Leaderprogram, which trains and prepares people for leadership roles in the federal government.

The Princeton native is completing a Ph.D. in public policy at WVU , and also earned a masters degree in public administration from the University. She came to WVU after earning a bachelors in business administration from Concord College.

Dr. Fred King, Eberlys associate dean for research, said Storesexperience with federal grants will beextremely valuableto the University community and the community-at-large. As a WVU graduate student she worked at the Universitys Institute for Public Affairs, and also completed internships at the Morgantown-Fairmont Housing Authority, the United Way of Central West Virginia and the City of Morgantown.

Stores was also a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Fellow.

She will be working to increase our competitiveness for corporate and foundation funds to support our missions of discovery, learning and engagement,King said.We are very fortunate to be able to recruit such an outstanding candidate.
