Mountaineer fans are invited to a rally celebrating the West Virginia University mens and womens basketball teams at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 25) on the Mountainlair plaza (inclement weatherMountainlair ballrooms).

Womens head basketball coach Mike Carey and several of his players, along with several players from the mens squad, will be making appearances, and MSN s Tony Caridi will broadcast live from theLair beginning at 6 p.m. on theMetroNews Statewide Sportsline.

This is a rare opportunity to meet players of both teams,said Jeremy Hatcher, co-executive director of the Mountaineer Maniacs, which is organizing the rally along with WVU Student Organization Services.

The celebration is open to the public. People will be admitted beginning at 6:15 p.m. with the WVU Pep Band playing at 6:30 p.m.

The men beat Clemson 78-73 last month, giving WVU its second National Invitation Tournament title in school history.

The womens team captured its first NCAA tournament win in 15 years.
