Outstanding students in the West Virginia University Community Music Program will present a special Honors Recital at the Creative Arts Center, Sunday, April 15.

The program begins at 1 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall. It is free and open to the public,

Students performing are considered the most talented in the program and were selected by audition by WVU Division of Music faculty.

Participants in this year’s Honors Recital will be Emily Chow, Kyle Luo, Jennifer van der Sloot, Michelle Wang, Emily Yang and Jennifer Yu, piano students of Catherine Crotty.

Also participating are Lucian Mazza, Emily Ngan, Vuong Nguyen, and Duncan Crooks, violin students of Mary Wilson, as well as Clemens Hsiao, a cello student of William Skidmore.

The event will include a presentation of Certificate of Achievement awards to students in the program who have been chosen by their teacher for special recognition of their dedication, consistent hard work and improvement in their musical studies. A reception will follow the recital.
