The Institute for Human Dignity, a student group at West Virginia University, is hosting its annual spring social at 8 p.m. Thursday (April 12) at De Lazy Lizard to raise money for Emergency USA .

Emergency USA is a humanitarian organization that provides care to civilian victims of war and land mines.

Besides raising money, were teaming together to spread awareness and support the victims of warfare in Third World countries,said Emily Wright, president of IHD , which connects college students with humanitarian efforts across the globe.

She encouraged both members and nonmembers to attend and bring their friends. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday in the Mountainlair commons area or at the door the evening of the event (until 8:30 p.m.).

Food will be provided courtesy of IHD .
