I would encourage the various constituency groups of the University to meet each of these candidates as they come to campus and see the strengths they offer us in continuing the great progress of WVU ,Goodwin said.Input from faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members will be helpful in the selection process.

Each finalist will also meet with members of WVU s Board of Governors during their campus visit. Regional campus representatives will also be included in the schedule of briefings.

The Board expects to select WVU s 22nd president at the panels April 13 meeting in Morgantown, and seek consent from the Higher Education Policy Commission.

David C. Hardesty, Jr., who became WVU s 21st president in July 1995, announced his retirement from the presidency last August. It will be effective Sept. 20, 2007.
