Event canceled at Creative Arts Center

The WVU Laureate Wind Quintet performance (originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 2), has been canceled. No rescheduling of this event has been announced.

The West Virginia University Laureate Wind Quintet will present a spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 2, in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) at the Creative Arts Center.

The event is free and open to the public.

Faculty members performing include Francesca Arnone, flute; Cynthia Anderson, oboe; John Weigand, clarinet; Lynn Hileman, bassoon; and Virginia Thompson, horn.

The program will include”Quintet, Op. 80, N. 3”by Anton Reicha (1770-1836), a Czech composer who immigrated to France and who is known for his wind quintet contributions;”Four Spanish Pieces”(1907), transcriptions of a set of piano works by Spanish composer Manuel De Falla (1876-1946); and”Aires Tropicales”by Cuban Grammy Award-winning instrumentalist and composer Paquito DRivera (b. 1948).
