Outstanding string musicians from high schools in West Virginia and surrounding states are taking part in West Virginia Universitys annual High School Honor Orchestra, Thursday-Saturday, March 1-3.

The students will present a concert at the Creative Arts Centers Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3. Directed by Harvey Felder, WVU Symphony Orchestra conductor, the concert is free and open to the public.

Students in grades 9-12 are nominated by music teachers and band directors at their schools in West Virginia and surrounding states to attend WVU High School Honor Orchestra.

During two days at WVU , they attend rehearsals and clinics with WVU string faculty members, perform with the WVU Symphony Orchestra wind section players, and attend concerts.
