West Virginia University classes are canceled beginning at 5 p.m. this evening (Feb. 13) due to a possible ice storm that is expected to hit the Morgantown area.

With the exception of classes, the University, however, will be operating normally this evening, officials say. The WVU Libraries and Student Recreation Center will remain open, and the PRT will be operating normally.

Employees are to report to work as scheduled or requested. If weather conditions prevent employees from coming to work on time, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible and prior to the start of the shift if possible. Supervisors are asked to work with employees who feel they need to leave work early due to the weather conditions. Employees who do not work their full scheduled shift may take annual leave, compensatory time off, or at the supervisors discretion, may be permitted to make up those hours.

Any questions about scheduling issues should be addressed to an employees supervisor. If employees still have questions, contact Jim Morris, WVU Human Resources, employee relations unit, 304-293-5700, ext. 2283.

A decision whether to delay classes or close the University on Wednesday (Feb. 14) will be made by 5:30 tomorrow morning, officials said.
