West Virginia University students interested in applying for the Helvetia, Chimes or Mortar Board honoraries are now able to see the criteria for each award and download the necessary applications on-line.

The qualifying criteria and forms are available atwww.wvu.edu/woh. Completed applications are due Monday, Feb. 26.

Students inducted into these honoraries are recognized for their academic merit, leadership and community service efforts. Each of the awards is based on specific criteria and the students class rank: Helvetia, for sophomores, Chimes for juniors and Mortar Board, a national senior honorary.

In addition to other accomplishments, students applying for the Helvetia or Chimes honoraries must have a GPA of at least 3.3. Mortar Board requires a GPA of 3.4 and a recommendation from a faculty member and an extracurricular advisor.

Students accepted into these honoraries will be recognized at the annual Weekend of Honors Convocation at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the Mountainlair Blue and Gold Ballrooms.
