West Virginia University police are asking the public for help in their investigation of a weekend robbery.

A male student was tackled by two other males who then stole his wallet at the stairs leading up to the WVU College of Law. The student refused medical treatment. Police say the assailants were wearing gray sweatshirts. The robbery occurred about 1:20 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 7).

The Department of Public Safety reminds students to walk with a friend at night and travel in well-lighted areas. Students also are encouraged to use mass transit services (PRT, buses) whenever available and be aware of their surroundings.

Anyone who may have information on the weekend robbery is asked to call WVU DPS at 293-COPS, or 293-2677.
