The West Virginia University football team is Gator Bowl bound, and alumni and friends will have an opportunity to travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to watch the Mountaineers take on the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech in the New Years Day bowl.

The WVU Alumni Association, working with National Travel, will offer a Gator BowlWeekend Bashtravel package for fans wanting to attend the game. The flight will leave from Clarksburg the morning of Saturday, Dec. 30, and return late Monday, Jan. 1, immediately following the game.

Air packages include round trip air transportation, appropriate in-flight services, round trip airport/hotel transfers and baggage handling, hotel accommodations at the Hyatt Regency in Jacksonville, pre-registration of hotel rooms, baggage handling at the hotel, reception, round trip game transfers, reserved seat game ticket, the official Gator Bowl Patch and more.

In addition to the air packages, National Travel will also offer a two-night and three-night hotel land-only package. The same features apply exclusive of air transportation, transfers and baggage handling.

WVU officially accepted an invitation Sunday, Dec. 3. The game will be televised on CBS . Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

The Hyatt Regency will also be the official headquarters of the Alumni Association. National Travel and alumni officials will serve as travel hosts for the length of the trip and will staff a hospitality desk at the Hyatt.

The dates, times and location for WVU ’s popular Mountaineer Fan Center and other WVU bowl-related activities will be announced later this week.
