West Virginia University will hold its annual, mid-year Convocation at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Coliseum with Kanawha County Circuit Judge Irene Berger as the main speaker.

Berger was honored as the 2006 outstanding alumna of WVU during a football game in October. A 1979 WVU College of Law graduate, Berger has maintained close ties to the university through the years, serving as a member of the Student Affairs Visiting Committee and previously as the president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Special seating is available for guests with physical limitations and those requiring the services of the interpreters on the platform by calling the Office of Disability Services at 304-293-6700.

All entrances to the Coliseum will be open at noon Sunday; tickets are not required for admission. An early arrival is suggested to avoid traffic and parking problems.

While not a formal commencement, the December convocation honors students who complete their degree requirements in mid-year. Degrees are conferred during May commencement.

Approximately 1,200 students will be graduating this month.
