The West Virginia University chapter of Colleges Against Cancer will hold their second annual remembrance ceremony on Monday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Mountainlairs Mountaineer Room.

Survivorship Chairwoman CAnna Keffer designed the ceremony to commemorate and remember those who have survived, died from or whose lives have been affected by disease. A slideshow will feature submitted names and pictures of cancer survivors and victims. Keffer, and possibly other cancer survivors, will speak about their personal experiences.

Anyone who attends the ceremony will be given a candle, which will symbolize the person that they are there to remember, said Nicole Canterbury, public relations head of the organization.

The ceremony, which is expected to last approximately one hour, is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Colleges Against Cancer is a student organization dedicated to cancer education, advocacy and survivorship. The group, which meets every other Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Mountainlair, is a branch of the American Cancer Society.
