The upcoming Thanksgiving recess will bring some rest and relaxation for West Virginia University students and curtailed operating hours at some WVU buildings.

Residence halls will close at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and reopen at noon Sunday, Nov. 26. Classes and regular operating hours will resume Monday, Nov. 27.

University offices are closed Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 22-24.

For students who call Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and New York home, the Mountaineer Parents Club is coordinating round-trip transportation for the holiday break.

On Friday, buses bound for the Pittsburgh International Airport will pick up students at the Evansdale Residential Complex at 12:45 p.m. and the Mountainlair at 1 p.m.

The club is also working with parent groups in central Maryland and northern Virginia to coordinate chartered buses for WVU students. According to Mountaineer Parents Club Director Sabrina Cave, her staff has taken some 250 transportation reservations for the Thanksgiving recess.
