Preparations are underway for the 2007 State Onsite Regulators-Captains of Industry (SORA-COI) conferencean annual, national event sponsored by the National Environmental Services Center (NESC) at West Virginia University.

The conference provides onsite wastewater industry leaders and state onsite regulators with an opportunity to share their mutual interests and concerns about the industry.

The SORA -COIconference will be held in Reno, Nev., Feb. 26 through March 1. The theme will beResponse to Congress on Use of Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems.

Ten industry professionals have volunteered their time as members of the 2007 planning committee. Industry representatives include Paul Chase and Doug Ebelherr with Chase Environmental Group, Inc.; Jim Kreissl, an environmental consultant; Martin Hally and Steve Branz of BordNaMonaEnvironmental Products U.S. Inc.; and Carl Thompson with Infiltrator Systems, Inc.

State regulators serving on the committee are Brent Parker from Iowa, Mark Hooks from Florida, and Dick Bechtel from North Dakota. Representing EPA s Region 3 is Les Reed.

Representatives from the NESC are Jennifer Hause, Sandy Miller, Trina Wafle and Frank Saus.
