West Virginia Universitys campus radio station, WWVU (U92), and Habitat for Humanity are teaming up to raise money to build a house with theSecond House That Rock Will Buildbenefit.
The two-day event starts at noon Thursday, Nov. 9 with a 12-hour music marathon, featuring some of the best local bands and musicians on U92 s airwaves playing live. WWVU will be taking call-in donations throughout the day to reach the $50,000 goal to build a house.
The line-up includes live performances from Todd Burge, 85 Flood, Simple Machines, Billy Matheny and the Frustrations, Dave Bello and The Myth of Eth to name a few.
U92 and Habitat for Humanity also will be set up inside the Mountainlair to take donations and distribute information.
On Friday, Nov. 10, U92 and Habitat for Humanity will host a benefit concert at 123 Pleasant Street starting at 10 p.m. with performances from Dave Bello, Thred, SoundVizion Entertainment and The Myth of Eth.
The price at the door will be $5, and all the proceeds will go toward the Habitat for Humanity house project.
