Local fans of German food, language and culture will have their chance to really celebrate on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Morgantowns Krepps Park whenOktoberfest meets Morgantown.

This is the second year for the event, sponsored by theWest Virginia Friends of German,made up faculty and students in West Virginia Universitys German Department and others from the community.

From 11 a.m.-5 p.m., youll enjoy pickup soccer matches, and of course, rich and tasty foods like bratwurst, Austrian strudel and real German potato salad.

Other activities include music and puppet shows, and everyone has the chance to winOktoberfest lottery prizes,with proceeds benefiting monthly German lessons for youngsters and WVU study abroad programs to German-speaking countries.

The soccer matches begin at 11 a.m. and the German buffet goes from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $1 for students and $2 for adults. Children under 6 eat for free.
