Dewey Boswell, a senior executive of Xerox and a 1972 graduate of West Virginia University, will deliver the annual Gochenour Lecture in WVU s Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in Room 113 of the Mineral Resources Building on the Evansdale Campus.

The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Boswell, who has been with Xerox since 1974 in a wide range of key sales and financial management positions, is currently vice president and general manager of major accounts for North American Graphic Arts, a division of Xeroxs United States Solutions Group. In this position, he is responsible for account marketing, sales, customer satisfaction, and relationships for specific major accounts in the graphic arts market.

I want to give students the benefit of some important lessons I have learned during my career,said Boswell,and also talk to them about what companies like Xerox and others are looking for in their employees and managers.

Boswell joined Xerox as a financial analyst in 1974. He has since served as solutions and sales operations manager for the Northeast; major account sales manager for the Hartford district; business analyst for U.S. Customer Operations headquarters; and district manager of sales for Virginia. He has been in his current position since 1999.

With more than 55,000 employees worldwide and in excess of $15 billion in revenue, Xerox is a worldwide leader in document solutions, document services, supplies, software and support.

After earning his bachelors degree at WVU , Boswell earned a master of business administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Nashville with their sons, Jeffrey and Zachary.

The Donald L. Gochenour Lecture Series was established in 1985 to honor the late Dr. Gochenour, a distinguished professor of industrial engineering at WVU .
