Looking for your dream job?

Hundreds of employment opportunities await job seekers at West Virginia Universitys fall Employment Expo from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at the WVU Coliseum.

Recruiters from more than 70 major companies and agencies in West Virginia and throughout the East Coast will be on hand to meet prospective employees. A wide variety of positions are available.

Attendees should enter through the blue gate, bring a resume and dress to impress, advised Susan Lantz, associate director of the Career Services Center.

Remember, the first 10 seconds with a recruiter are crucial, she said.Visiting the expo early in the day before recruiters are overwhelmed is important, too.

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the job outlook is positive for students graduating right now. Employers anticipate hiring 17 percent more college graduates than they did last year.

Increased retirements and organizational growth are making this an ideal time to start a career, Lantz noted, and surveys indicate that starting salaries are climbing in many disciplines at the bachelor-degree level.

For students graduating this year, the world is their oyster, she said.

The expo is open to the public and sponsored by WVU s Career Services Center and West Virginia Radio Corp.
