Dady B. Dadyburjor, chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University, was recently elected to a two-year term as counselor of the Pittsburgh Local Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).AIChE is the worlds leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with more than 40,000 members from 93 countries. The Pittsburgh Local Section includes portions of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.

This position will provide me with the opportunity to focus on long-term issues facing the profession of chemical engineering in the region,said Dr. Dadyburjor.I am grateful for the opportunity.

In 1999, for his contributions and service to the profession, Dadyburjor was elected a fellow of AIChE, an honor extended to less than one percent of the membership, for his contributions and service to the profession. Earlier, he served as president and treasurer of the Northeast New York Local Section and on various national committees of AIChE.

Dadyburjor earned his doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware. He has been a member of the WVU faculty for 23 years, and chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering since 1999.
