The annual West Virginia State Fire School, now in its 75th year, has several visual opportunities for media coverage in Morgantown.

The activities will be held at the State Fire Training Center on Monongahela Boulevard.

Tuesday, July 18: 10:00 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Firefighter II Training (Burn Building), Hazardous Materials Operations Class

Wednesday, July 19: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Firefighter I Training (Burn Building), Low Angle Rope Rescue

Thursday, July 20: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Firefighter II Training (Vehicular Rescue), Hazardous Material Technician

Saturday, July 22: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Structural Firefighter Training (Live Burn Scenarios)

The West Virginia State Fire School gives firefighters, fire safety instructors, hazardous materials specialists and public safety personnel the opportunity to learn the latest fire safety information and techniques.

Classes are instructed by WVU Fire Service Extension educators, community volunteer and paid firefighters, and representatives from West Virginia state fire marshal’s office.

The 200 participants selected their classes from 21 sessions including basic and advanced firefighting, hazardous materials operations, team operations, scene examination, propane emergencies, foam application, emergency vehicle driving, arson detection and fire officer leadership.
