C.B. Wilson, associate provost for academic personnel at West Virginia University, will conduct the Morgantown Municipal Band during its Fourth of July program at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park.

The program will feature music by John Philip Sousa, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Percy Grainger and others.

This annual concert has become a favorite for many residents of the greater Morgantown community, and I always look forward to it,Wilson said.This years program will feature some old favorites and will appeal to all ages.

This concert marks the seventh that the band will play in the new park facility. The series has been continuous since 1990.

Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and sun protection such as hats or umbrellas.

Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Garage in the Wharf District.

The program is sponsored by WesBanco Bank and Simpson&Osborne under the auspices of the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners, with assistance from Kleeb’s Music Center and WVU College of Creative Arts.

Funds for this performance are furnished in part by the Recording Industries Music Performance Trust Funds, as arranged by Local 580, American Federation of Musicians.
