West Virginia University head coaches John Beilein and Rich Rodriguez will head to Charlotte this summer as part of the annual Mountaineer Athletic Club Coaches’Caravan.

The Charlotte chapter of the WVU Alumni Association will host Beilein and Rodriguez along with other coaches at Carmel Country Club on June 1.

We are very excited to welcome the coaches to Charlotte as our guest speakers for this event,said Mike Petruski, president of the Charlotte chapter.We have a very strong and loyal alumni base in the Charlotte area who love the Mountaineers, and this will be a wonderful opportunity to hear their thoughts on our teams as well as an opportunity for us to express our appreciation for all that they have done for our alma mater.

The luncheon will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Carmel Country Club. The cost of the event is $50 and includes lunch. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Charlotte chapter’s scholarship fund, which provides scholarships to students in the Charlotte area to attend WVU . Beilein led the Mountaineer men’s basketball team to its second straight appearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Under Rodriguez’s leadership, the football team captured the Big East title and the 2006 Sugar Bowl trophy.
