The new Burger King at West Virginia University will be serving up more than Whoppers and fries during its student appreciation celebration from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in the Mountainlair food court.
WVU students will have a chance to win an Xbox 360, video iPod, two iPod nanos and a mountain bike. Look for entry forms in an upcoming issue of The Daily Athenaeum and in the food court the day of the event. Students must be present during the drawings to be eligible.
The students, faculty and staff have been very patient and supportive of this project,said Larry Koay, assistant director of WVU Dining Services.We have been extremely busy since we opened for business last month, and we wanted to do something to show our gratitude.
Koay thanked the Student Government Association administration and others who played a part in making Burger King a reality.
We have invited student leaders to join in the celebration,he said.U92 (WVU’s campus radio station) will play music and assist with the drawings and giveaways.
Burger King opened March 13 in the’Lair. Hours are: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday, noon-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 2-10 p.m.
