A leading scholar from the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will speak at West Virginia University Wednesday, April 5.
Dr. Martin Dean will presentMore than Just Neighbors? Encounters Between Jews and Gentiles in a Genocidal Relationshipfrom 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday in the Mountainlair’s Mountaineer Room, Downtown Campus.
The event is sponsored the Department of History in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
Dr. Dean is author ofCollaboration in the Holocaust: Crimes of the Local Police in Belorussia and Ukraine , 1941-1944(NY: St. Martin’s Press, 2000). Copies of his book will be available for purchase at the talk.
The Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies supports scholarship and publications in the field of Holocaust studies, promotes the growth of Holocaust studies at American universities, seeks to foster strong relationships between American and international scholars, and initiates programs to ensure the ongoing training of future generations of scholars specializing in the Holocaust.
