West Virginia University jazz musicians will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23, in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.
Conducted by music professors Paul Scea and Keith Jackson and student Siang Tay, the concert will feature the WVU jazz program’s many ensembles, including Jazz Ensemble I, Jazz Ensemble II, The Piano Trio, Straight Ahead, Osteology and The Latin Big Band.
The program will includeNight Flightby Sammy Nestico,Quintessenceby Quincy Jones andThere’s the Rubby Gordon Goodwin. The group Straight Ahead will performBlack Nileby Wayne Shorter, and The Latin Big Band will performSofritoby Neal Creaque andPare Concheroby Banguela&Gurerra.
