Violinist David Russell of the Cleveland Institute of Music will present a concert Friday, March 24, at the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center.

The program begins at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (Room 200A). It is free and open to the public.

Russell earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from CIM , where he is assistant director of string chamber music and a faculty member of the ENCORE School for Strings. He also teaches at ARIA International Summer Music Academy in Canada and the Keshet Eilon Violin Mastercourse in Israel.

He has performed frequently as a recitalist and soloist with orchestras, has been featured on National Public Radio’sPerformance Today,and has performed at the Glenn Gould Studio of the CBC in Toronto.

He is the founder and former artistic director of the Pensacola Chamber Music Festival in Florida and served on the faculty of the Meadowmount School of Music and the New School of Music.
