The quality of the Executive MBA program at West Virginia University was recently recognized at the annual Southeast regional meeting of the Executive MBA Council at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Schools in attendance cited WVU ’s remote delivery system and promotion of the MBA Essentials campaign among its strengths.

At the meeting, Paul Speaker, College of Business and Economics director of graduate programs, and Elizabeth Vitullo, associate director of the EMBA program, spoke about managing an EMBA program.

We brought back useful information about other EMBA programs, but perhaps more important was finding out how favorably our programs are viewed by others,Vitullo said. For example, several schools are now planning to visit us to learn more about our (remote site) delivery system.

The group was also impressed with the MBA Essentials promotion campaign.

Another very encouraging thing we learned is that exit surveys are showing that EMBA programs really do live up to their claims. Students graduate feeling confident and prepared for a ramped-up career because of their work in these programs,Vitullo said.

The WVU EMBA program co-hosted the event with some of the nation’s other highly ranked business schools: the University of North Carolina , Duke University , the University of Virginia and Wake Forest University .

The conference brought together more than 60 representatives from Executive MBA programs in the region to discuss best practices and current industry trends.
