West Virginia University’s Female Equality Movement will hold performances ofThe Vagina Monologuesat 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24; 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, in G24 Eiesland Hall.

Eve Ensler’s award-winning play is based on more than 200 interviews with women of all ages, ethnicities and sexual orientations about their experiences with sexuality.

Monologueshas been performed in cities all across America and on hundreds of college campuses. The play’s subject matter, which covers everything from love to sexual assault, is for mature audiences.

FEM ’s production will be performed and directed by WVU students, said Heather Jewell, FEM public relations co-chair.

The play empowers women,she added,and it’s one that all women need to see.

Tickets are $6 in advance and $9 at the door. Beginning Monday, Feb. 20, they can be purchased at the FEM booth in the Mountainlair.

Proceeds will benefit the Morgantown Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center , V-day.org and the WVU FEM .
