West Virginia University will recognize the 2005 Mountaineer football team on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at halftime of the men’s basketball game against Notre Dame.

MSN ’s Tony Caridi will host the halftime recognition on the Coliseum floor and football coach Rich Rodriguez is slated to address the crowd.

The Mountaineers won their third consecutive BIG EAST championship and finished with an 11-1 record after winning the Nokia Sugar Bowl against Georgia on January 2. The victory gave West Virginia its first BCS bowl victory and third 11-win season in school history. The Mountaineers finished fifth and sixth in the final national rankings.

The WVU men’s basketball game versus Notre Dame will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Coliseum.
