West Virginia University will remember three WVU students who died during the holiday break with an 11:50 a.m. ceremony Friday, Jan. 13, on the Downtown Campus.

The Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity will ring the bell from the armored cruiser USS West Virginia at Oglebay Plaza in honor of:

  • Austin Bowen, 19, a freshman general studies student from Morgantown . He passed away Dec. 21 of natural causes.
  • Amanda Gage, 18, a freshman psychology major from North Canton , Ohio . She died Jan. 3 in a car accident in Ohio .
  • Francis Ofosu Mensah, 35, a graduate student from Columbus , Ohio . He was working on his master’s degree in secondary education at WVU . Mensah died Dec. 21 of an apparent heart attack.
