Dominion Resources Services Inc., of West Virginia recently received West Virginia University Extension Services Outstanding Organization Award for its support of WVU Jacksons Mill State 4-H Camp and Lifelong Learning Center near Weston.

The award was presented at WVU Jacksons Mill. Dominion Resources was represented by Bob Orndorff, director of state and local government affairs; Bob Fulton, director of public affairs; and Phyllis Hinterer, director of Dominion Transmission Southern Area.

Dominion Resources provides electric power and natural gas utilities in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeastern and Midwestern United States.

Larry Cote, WVU associate provost for Extension and Public Service, praised Dominion Resources for its contributions to WVU Jacksons Mill.

The companys support has included donations to help build the new 4-H swimming pool, to create the Dominion Nature Trail, and to help renovate the Northern Panhandle, Upshur and Lewis cottages.

Such support helps sustain Jacksons Mill, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 525-acre retreat annually welcomes thousands of guests for classes, meetings, camps, reunions, fairs and historic reenactments.

The boyhood home of Civil War Gen. ThomasStonewallJackson, the Mill is hailed as a national treasure. Its the site of the nations first state 4-H Camp and the home of the nations premier 4-H camping program.

The WVU Extension Service provides educational programs and information for the citizens of West Virginia through WVU Jacksons Mill and offices in all 55 counties. Program initiatives offered by WVU Extension include 4-H youth development, leadership development, community improvement, economic development, and agriculture and natural resources.
