West Virginia University music students at the College of Creative Arts will present an evening of opera scenes, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 3-5, at the WVU Creative Arts Center.

Under the direction of Robert Thieme, the program includes fully staged and costumed excerpts from operas by Franz Joseph Haydn, Johann Strauss, Arthur Sullivan, Kurt Weill and Milton Granger.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Creative Arts Centers Antoinette Falbo Theatre, with the exception of the Saturday, Nov. 5 performance, which will be at 3:15 p.m.

The first half, titled features scenes fromHarmony in Marriageby Haydn,Die Fledermausby Strauss,The Mikadoby Sullivan, andStreet Sceneby Weill.

The second half will feature GrangersTest Tube,a comic opera which premiered in 1993.

Student performers include: Kristal Medina; Jennifer Vanella; Michael Spencer; Benjamin Bell; Danielle Goode; Josh Jannotta; Samantha Bonacci; Emily Tanzey; Emily Lapisardi; Daniel Salls; Samantha Bartlow; Sarah Lynch; Heath Harris; Elizabeth Zell; William Hostutler; Joan Brittingham; Chris Romich; and Susanna Reckord-Raymer.

Accompanists on piano will be Pinkcheer Tamio, and Khe Sin Khoo.
