Kristen Abraham will soon have managed to do what many a struggling writer has notget published.
Abraham, a master of fine arts student in West Virginia Universitys Department of English, will be published in the fall edition of the anthologyBest New Poets 2005: 50 Poems from Emerging Writers.
The collectionpublished by the University of Virginiais a celebration of previously unpublished new writers selected from nominations by writing programs, literary magazines and an open interest competition. The anthology will be available in bookstores and online in November.
Abraham, from Lapeer Mich., obtained her bachelors degree in creative writing from Central Michigan University and is pursuing an MFA in the Creative Writing Program at WVU with a concentration in poetry.
She is the 2004 recipient of the Rebecca Mason Perry Award at WVU , which honors outstanding first-year graduate students in the Department of English. She is the daughter of Robert and Celene Abraham of Lapeer.
