West Virginia Universitys Math Saturday Series, a mathematics enrichment program for middle-school students, kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

Dates for the fall semester are Sept. 24, Oct. 8, Oct. 22 and Nov. 12. Additional dates may be announced later. All sessions are from 10 a.m.-noon in 209 Armstrong Hall on the Downtown Campus.

The program, which is sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and the Institute for Mathematics Learning in WVU s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, is free of charge and open to all students in grades six, seven and eight. Refreshments are provided.

The Oct. 8 and Nov. 12 sessions will focus on preparing for theMath Countscompetition. Other topics that will be covered include probability and data analysis, problem-solving strategies, geometry, algebra, technology and math, and discrete math.
